Voices in Babylon
It seems many people believe the gospel is: God is love, he accepts you as you are, Jesus died for your sins, and works have nothing to do with your salvation. If that is the gospel, then the devils are saved. James 2:19 tells us the devils believe that there is one God. They also tremble with fear, which is better than many Christians do. Satan is the god of this world, and he has deceived many with a counterfeit message (2 Cor. 4:4).
Gal. 5:19-21 and 1 Cor. 6:9-10 list works that will keep people from inheriting the kingdom of God. Verse 11 gives hope to those who turn from those unrighteous works. American churches need to preach repentance.
If Menno Simons came back today, would he be ashamed of the Mennonite church? If Alexander Mack came back, would he be Brethren? If Martin Luther came back, would he tack his 95 theses to the doors of the Lutheran churches?
Today we have many voices and one Babylon. Now is the time to rekindle the Reformation and get back to the Bible.
There is only one God of truth, and his children obey and serve only that true God.
