By what authority?

Who has given the Mennonite Church USA Executive Board the authority to not recognize the ordination of a Colorado pastor? Pastoral ordination has been the province of the district conference. In the General Conference Mennonite Church, district conferences credentialed and disciplined; the denomination held the record. Do districts still credential as they did in the Mennonite Church before the merger? Districts still discipline. Complicating this situation is the fact that the Executive Board acts without transparency, denying reporting by the press. Those of us who have homosexuals and same-sex partners in our families would like to see our church be welcoming. A revision of the Confession of Faith is necessary. These issues need to be decided at a national assembly so that we can choose whether to part ways.
