Service Opportunities

  • HOSPITALITY SERVICE Opportunity. We are looking for short-term volunteers to serve at the International Guest House on Kennedy Street in Washington, D.C., beginning May 2019. Volunteers need only be open to learning from each other and from the guests. The primary responsibility of all volunteers is to maintain a well-run community: cleaning, cooking, gardening, changing lightbulbs, and interacting with guests at breakfast and evening tea. Training for the different tasks requires two weeks and prospective volunteers are encouraged to serve a minimum of two months. (Returning volunteers need only contact IGH to help out for shorter stints.) Free room and board with two days off per week for personal time or to explore this historic city. (Stipends only available to those serving 12 months as hosts). IGH is a 50-year-old ministry is under the auspices of Allegheny Mennonite Conference.
